2D1N Weekend Trip to Batam (Indonesia)

We love the weekends! It’s the perfect opportunity for a quick getaway to our neighboring countries for a soulful recharge!

It has been many years since we have last visited Batam, Indoneisa. And when we heard that Batam has now gotten some pretty nice shopping malls, we thought we definitely had to revisit it soon. For a short trip like this and with a kid in tow, it would be perfect for us to spend few hours eating and shopping at the malls (honestly – to also enjoy the air-conditioning during the hot afternoon) and then spend the rest of the evening and onwards at a pool resort.

    Taking a ferry to Batam

Depending on where it is more convenient for you, you can either go to the Singapore Harbourfront Ferry Terminal or the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to board a ferry to Batam.

There are 4 main ferry companies in Singapore, namely Batam Fast Ferry, Majectic Fast Ferry, Sindo Ferry and Horizon Fast Ferry. Each company operates routes from these Singapore ferry terminals to the 3 ferry terminals in Batam, namely the Batam Centre, Sekupang and Nongsapura Ferry Terminals.

It seems that the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal is the most popular arrival point in Batam due to its close proximity to the shopping areas. As such, there are many departure timings to choose from when getting to the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal as compared to the other terminals.

Below are printshots of ferry timings from Singapore and round trip fares (which are the same for both terminals) of the different ferry operators taken from their website for your easy reference:

For our trip, we chose to arrive at the Batam Center Ferry Terminal (which is the more popular one) as it was nearer to the shopping malls that we wanted to go. *Insert map*

We think it’ll be easier to put down the places we have visited in their different headings, so that it’ll be easier for your reading:
